Dua After Azaan – Azaan ke Baad ki Dua

Abdullah bin Al-As reported Allah’s Messenger as saying: When you hear the Muadhan, repeat what he says, then say Darood o Salam (invoke a blessing) on me, for everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten blessings from Allah. Then beg from Allah al-wasila for me, which is a rank in Paradise fitting for only one of Allah’s servants, and I hope that I may be that one. If anyone asks that I be given the Wasila, he will be assured of my intercession.

(Sahih Muslim Hadith#849)

When the Azaan finishes, we should send Salat o Salam on Muhammad (SAW) in the form of Durood:

Transliteration:

Allahumma Sallay Alla Muhammadin wa-ala aali Muhammadin kama sallita Ala Ibrahima wa-ala aali Ibrahima innaka hamidun-majeed Allahumma barik ala Muhammadin wa-ala aali Muhammadin kama barakta ala Ibrahima wa-ala aali Ibrahima innaka hameedun-majeed.

Translation in English:

O Allah, send Mercy upon Muhammad (SAW) and the family of Muhammad (SAW) as you bestowed mercy upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. O Allah, bless Muhammad(SAW) and the family of Muhammad (SAW) as you blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, you are praiseworthy and glorious.

After Darud read this dua after Azaan mentioned in Ahadith:

Dua After Adhan  English Translation:

O Allah! The Lord of this perfect call (perfect by not ascribing partners to you) and of the regular prayer which is going to be established, give Muhammad the right of intercession and illustriousness and grant Him to the best and the highest place in Paradise that You promised Him. ( Of course, He does not break His promise.)

o Allaah! is paripoorn aur sthaapit praarthana ke bhagavaan, Muhammad (un par shaanti ho) ko vishesh nikatata aur vishesh gun pradaan karen aur unhen mahamood ka vah pad pradaan karen jisaka aapane unase vaada kiya hai. (beshak, yeh vaada nahin todata)

What is Azaan?

Adhan is a call for prayer, a reminder to leave all the worldly work and get up to remember Allah by offering prayer. Adhan’s words remind us that Allah is the greatest, and we live in a temporary world, and that the best way to outright oneself is by staying on the right path through offering Namaz. We can estimate the importance and excellence of Azaan from this Hadith:

Narrated by Abu Huraira, Allah’s Apostle said: “When the Adhan has been pronounced, Satan takes to his heels and passes wind with noise during his flight in order not to hear the Adhan” (Sahih Bukhari Hadith#608).

How to Recite Adhan?

The proper Adhan method is described in the following Hadith:

Abdullah bin Zaid reported that when the Messenger of Allah(SAW) ordered a bell to be made so that it might be struck to gather the people for prayer, a man carrying a bell in his hand appeared to me while I was asleep and I said; servant of Abdullah, will you sell the bell? He asked; what will you do with it? I replied; we shall use it to call the people to prayer. He said; should I not suggest something better than he told me to say:

He then moved backwards a few steps and said: When you utter the IQAMAH, you should say:

When the morning came, I came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and informed Him of what I had seen in the dream. He (SAW) said: it is a genuine vision, and you stand with Bilal and tell him the word you have seen. He will say the Adhan because he is louder than you. So I stood with Bilal and told him those words, and he went on to call the Adhan. Umar Bin Al Khitab (Allah be pleased with him) heard it while he was in his house, came out with a trailing cloak and said: Messenger of Allah. By Him who has sent you with the truth, I have also seen the kind of thing shown to him. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: To Allah be the praise.

(Sunan Abu Dawud Hadith#499)

What Should We Say When Adhan is Being Given?

Whenever he hears Adhan, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) says what the Moazzan is saying. Umer Bin Al Khattab reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: When the Muadhan says: اللہ اکبر ، اللہ اکبر and one of you make should response: اللہ اکبر ، اللہ اکبر (and when the Muadhan) says: one should response أشهد أن لا الہ إلا الله and when he(Muadhan) says: أشهد أن محمدا رسول الله one should make a response. أشهد أن محمدا رسول الله When he (Muadhan) says حي على الصلاة one should say لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله and when he (Muadhan) says:حي على الفلاح one should say: لَاحَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّۃَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰہِand When he (Muadhan) says: اللہ اکبر ، اللہ اکبر  one should say: اللہ اکبر ، اللہ اکبر and when He (Muadhan) says:لا إله إلا الله and he who makes response fro, the heart:لا إله إلا الله he will enter Paradise. (Sahih Muslim Hadith#850)
