some water in hands and showing wudu

Dua for Wudu – Wazu Ki Dua

In Islam, certain conditions apply before worship. Your body and clothes must be clean. You must perform ablution (wazu) and recite the dua for ablution (wazu ki dua). Wazu is a must before every prayer, reciting the Holy Quran, and every kind of worship.

Dua before wudu and dua for after wudu (wazu ki dua).

This article discusses the supplications (duas) before and after Wudu in Arabic, Urdu, and English. Importance of Wudu and its benefits according to Sunnah.

Importance of Wudu

Wudu is compulsory before Namaz and every kind of worship. Before moving forward we decide to acknowledge you about the importance of wudu through hadith.

Ibn e Umar narrated: the Prophet (SAW) said that Salat (namaz) will not be accepted without ablution nor charity from haram. (Tirmizi Hadith# 1)

With this hadith, you can easily understand the importance of wazu.

Wazu se pehlay ki Dua – Dua Before Wudu

We know from ahadith that our Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to recite “ Bismillah” before performing ablution. Therefore, we should also recite before performing ablution:

بِسۡمِ اللّٰہِ

Transliteration:

                                 Bismillah

Urdu Translation:

شروع کرتا ہوں اللہ تعا لٰی کے نام سے

English Translation:

                                    In the name of Allah

Related Hadith

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah(SAW) said: The prayer of a person who does not perform ablution (wazu) is not valid, and the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah ( in the beginning) is not valid. (Sunan Abu dawud Hadith # 101)

It seems a  really strict Hadith therefore, the Muslim scholars agree at one point that if someone performs ablution with bismillah, he will get a lot of rewards (swab). And if someone forgets to recite Bismillah before wazu, still his ablution (wazu) will be performed.

Dua After Wudu (Wazu ki dua)

 In Ahadith we find two duas after Wazu. The first and most famous is this;

                   اَشْھَدُ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ وَحْدَہٗ لَاشَرِیْکَ لَہٗ وَاَشْھَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا  ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَبْدُہٗ وَرَسُوْلُہٗ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ

Benefits of Wazu

There are numerous benefits of wazu. It make us able to stand in front of our lord the Allah Almighty. It also purifies us from sins. There is another hadith that shows the benefits of Wazu.

In another Hadith Abu Huraira narrated that: Allah’s Messenger said: When a Muslim, or believer, performs wudu, washing his face, every evil that he looked at with his eyes leaves with the water, or with the last drop of water, or an expression similar to that- and when he washes his hands, every evil he did with his hands leaves with the water-or with the last drop of water-until he becomes free of sin.

Wazu and its before and after duas purifies us from sins and it can lead us to heaven.
